What’s Covered in Instructor Training
NRA Instructor Courses are discipline-specific and designed to prepare you to teach NRA programs effectively and professionally. During training, candidates learn:

What’s Expected of Instructor Candidates
​Candidates must demonstrate both technical skill and the ability to teach effectively in their chosen discipline. You’ll learn discipline-specific methods, coaching strategies, and best practices for improving the performance of beginning shooters.

Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to confidently lead NRA - approved courses that educate and inspire future firearm owners.
How to Qualify as a Certified Instructor
​​To become an NRA Certified Instructor, candidates must:

Have a solid background in firearm safety and marksmanship.

Demonstrate safe handling and shooting proficiency.

Complete pre-course questionnaires and qualification exercises.

Successfully complete the NRA Instructor Training Course in their discipline.

Receive endorsement from an NRA Training Counselor.

Once qualified, you’ll be certified to teach NRA courses and carry forward a legacy of safety and professionalism.
